OUR INSTRUCTORS
VINCENT TABSCOTT
OWNER, FOUNDER, HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Vincent Tabscott began BJJ training in 2003. In 2010 he joined the newly founded Valhalla Academy (a Carlson Gracie Team affiliate) in Frankfort, KY and trained there exclusively under Professor N. Brian Jones. He was an assistant adult instructor, and helped create the Valhalla Academy Kids program, serving as Head instructor of the kids' program from its creation in early 2014. He was awarded the rank of black belt in February of 2020 by Professor Jones.
In October of 2022, God opened doors that allowed Vince to establish his own BJJ gym in his hometown of Versailles.
MIKE WELLS
FOUNDER, ADULT BJJ INSTRUCTOR, KIDS KARATE INSTRUCTOR
With over 31 years of experience, Mike is a seasoned martial arts instructor specializing in Karate (4th Dan) and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Mike also taught unarmed self defense for 12 years while employed with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Mike has honed his skills in teaching martial arts and effective self defense techniques to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Mike was promoted to black belt in October 2024.
ETHAN J GOSS
ADULT NO GI INSTRUCTOR
Training since the young age of 15, Ethan has seen his fair share of martial arts. His initial training was in mixed martial arts (MMA) but he quickly fell in love with grappling. So much so that he's competed in BJJ, no gi, combat grappling, folk wrestling, judo and even sambo, medaling in each sport. Winner of numerous gold medals and belts, he turned his eyes to the professional grappling route in 2016. Amassing a professional record of 11-3 he decided to hang up the gi in 2023 to focus on family and training the next generation of grapplers. Ethan achieved the rank of black belt in October of 2024. He lives in Frankfort with his beautiful wife, Danielle (who he met through jiu jitsu) and his 2 dogs: Harry and Romeo.

CADE TABSCOTT
FOUNDER, KIDS BJJ INSTRUCTOR
Cade began his grappling education in youth wrestling at about 7 years old and then followed his father into Brazilian jiu-jitsu as one of Vince's first students in the Valhalla Academy Kids program. Cade grew up in the kids program, receiving the Academy's highest youth rank and teaching new students as a junior instructor. He earned his adult blue belt in May of 2021 and continues his own training while teaching kids BJJ classes each week along side his dad.
